Shining on Children in Need

Light of Lanka Foundation strives to assist orphans and disadvantaged children in the Southern region of Sri Lanka in the most direct way we can.

Mission

Light of Lanka Foundation is focusing on the construction of an orphanage in the Galle area to provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment for orphans of the tsunami and disadvantaged children in the community.

Long term, Light of Lanka Foundation will continue to support children by providing funds to the orphanage for services in health, education, counselling and fostering programs. We also aim to provide a link between the children in the orphanage with children in Australia through various school programs.

Light of Lanka Foundation works in partnership with a reputable non government organisation named Sarvodaya. We will draw upon their local knowledge and expertise to administer the construction, maintenance and operation of the orphanage and care of the children. This process will be overseen by a group of respectable high profile members of the community to ensure total transparency.

Sarvodaya currently own and operate 26 orphanages in Sri Lanka and are the leading non government organisation in the country in providing humanitarian assistance.
