As part of Light of Lanka’s long term goals, we plan to encourage school programs between children in the orphanage and children in Australia. Our main objective is to create awareness and education amongst children, on different cultures and opportunities that exist in other countries.. We hope to do this through various creative and educational programs with local schools. The children in the orphanage will be exposed to 3 languages (English, Sinhala and Tamil) and all major religions (Buddhist, Hindu and Christian) of Sri Lanka. We also would like to provide the children with as much extra curricular activities and stimulation as possible, through various training programs, individuals volunteering their time and focused activities introduced from Australia.
